Tea Growing Environment

The natural conditions for tea cultivation include topography, climate, and soil type. The terrain is predominantly hilly with good drainage. Abundant rainfall, small annual temperature range, large diurnal temperature range, long frost-free period, and good sunlight conditions are suitable for the growth of various tea types, especially large-leaf tea varieties. Late winter to early summer brings abundant sunshine, while summer and autumn are rainy and foggy (in Yunnan tea-growing areas). Less sunshine during this period is beneficial for tea trees to overwinter and accumulate nutrients, thus improving the quality of summer and autumn teas. Lateritic soils, lateritic red soils, mountain red soils or mountain yellow soils, and brown forest soils are all well-developed and structurally sound, suitable for tea tree growth.
